A word from the President
|
|
After more than twenty years of leading projects in database design, system
design and development, and legacy system migration, I came to the conclusion
that while moving legacy mission systems forward in time and technology may not
be the most glamorous task in the world of IT, it is one of the most critical.
Technology is advancing far more rapidly than most Federal agencies can cope.
And yet, rapid and cost-effective migration holds the promise of huge cost
savings and vastly improved mission capabilities. The Seneca Group specializes
in this very thing.
Besides commanding the nuts and bolts of both old technologies and new, it was
also apparent to me that a very special company operating model would be
required. So the Seneca Group has been put together in a very particular way.
For one thing, we make extensive use of flex time and digital commuting..this
enables us to attract specialists in some of the more arcane systems that we
encounter. It also enables us to meet difficult deadlines as users expect their
new, 21st century systems to come on line with no room for schedule errors. Our
key technical staff have been known to work around the clock to help a client
meet a schedule.
|
Another feature of our operating model is a strict adherence to modern program
management tools and techniques-including EVMs. By employing and staying
current in these tools of the trade, our unique skills in object-oriented
migration are leveraged to the benefit of the client.
The rest goes without saying. Our ethical standards are very high. Our
dedication to diversity is unchallenged. Our work processes are becoming ISO
certified. Our belief in listening to the customer is unshakable.
Whether you wish us to work for you or you wish to work for us, our common
belief systems will make us excellent work partners.
Diane M. Janke,
President
