For several years The Seneca Group has provided and continues to provide specialized consulting services
to clients in the Federal information technology market. In early 2006, the business was taken over by Diane M. (Rodriguez) Janke and today, the organization provides specialized services directly to Federal agencies and prime government contractors.
The Seneca Group principals realized that for decades, they had been serving the Federal government by modernizing some of the most difficult computing environments. So it was a natural step to form a company around this specialty.
As it happened, this was a timely step as the Federal government today is confronted with the reality that dozens of its most critical mission systems are imprisoned on decades-old platforms with very high maintenance costs. Worse news. Many of these legacy systems were implemented in old languages with uncertain documentation and little or no formal change control.
As an example, M204 was, in its day, a highly effective database system. But its day was some 20 years ago. Astonishingly, there are still hundreds of critical government applications in more than a dozen agencies that are still running M204! The Seneca Group is one of the very few companies today that actually has M204 skills. Taken together with Seneca's skills in modern enterprise architectures and languages, a case is made for seeking out this seasoned group of specialists for your migration needs.
